Museum of Alaska Transportation & Industry, Wasilla

The museum started in 1967 in Anchorage, as the Air Progress Museum, but its remit soon included railroad cars and other transport items. After three name changes, MATI moved to its current site in 1992.

Along with aircraft and trains the museum also has a large snowmobile collection, agricultural machinery, boats, and numerous road and off-road vehicles. MATI is located just north of Wasilla Airport, and opened specially for us on 9th May. Its normal opening season is June to August.
