MARZ Moscow Aviation Repair Plant, Chernoye

This plant, in the village of Chernoye, sometimes spelled Chernoe in English, east of Moscow, is operated by DOSAAF Russia, which is the Volunteer Society for Cooperation with the Army, Aviation, and Navy. DOSAAF Russia was previously known as ROSTO (Russian Defence Sports-Technical Organization).

The plant specialises in the repair and restoration of An-2s and Mi-2s, including engine and helicopter gearbox overhaul. It also handles other types such as Mi-8s. It recently celebrated its 75th anniversary.

"BBC POCCNN", "VVS Rossii" in English text, as seen on many of the aircraft, means Russian Air Force. Aircraft here are being parted-out in the graveyard, stored awaiting restoration, or restored and awaiting delivery to customers. Most, if not all, of the An-2s and Mi-2s were built in Poland by PZL.
