Fairbanks International Airport

The only large city in Alaska north of Anchorage, situated in the centre of the state, Fairbanks International is a hub for all types of aviation, and there are also large Army and Air Force airfields in the area. The airport is the hub for Everts Air operations, maintenance and storage, and there are also many air charter and taxi and operators connecting communities around the state.

We had a tour of the southern, GA, ramp and the seaplane base, guided by a very co-operative Operations guy. We also had a ramp tour of Everts Air, with members of their staff who gave us full access to the boneyard as well - a DC-6 lover's paradise. Many thanks to all involved, including the Wright Air Service folk who tolerated us while we waited for our flightseeing trips in one of their Super Couriers while they conducted their hectic program of cargo and passenger Grand Caravan operations. We visited on 10 and 11 May.

I've divided the photos into three pages, with separate pages for Everts and for Wright Air Service.
